Program approach
Generation for Generations – An OPG Energy Education Program will take you on a learning journey through seven stories about Ontario’s electricity system, from introducing the program to the future of electricity in Ontario.
Energy is all around us - it's in the land, air, and water. To create visuals that honour this in a relatable way, we are collaborating with August Swinson, a First Nation artist from the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, who has produced the visual elements for the program.
The main visual focal point is a travelling canoe, representing the journey you take throughout the program.
The second focal point has two islands representing the Communities and OPG. The two islands stand as pillars of connection, the coming together of diverse perspectives and the power of shared knowledge.
Additional visual elements will be included which honour the energy all around us. Animals, the earth, and the sun are all elements that will be represented in an artistic way throughout the program.
Program guiding principles
The guiding principles of Generation for Generations are outlined below. They, in combination with OPG’s values, inform our approach and tone for the program.

August Swinson
August is a First Nation artist of the Mississaugas band, currently living in Kitchener, Ontario. He works in a variety of styles and use a mix of hand drawn and computer-generated illustrations.
Influenced by the beauty of nature and the classic Canadian landscape, and memories of his childhood living on Scugog Island. His illustrations evoke a sense of fun, and something familiar that reminds us of a more innocent age but from a new perspective. Website
